Go to CAPPS Recruit to Sign In https://capps.taleo.net/careersection/ex/jobsearch.ftl?lang=en GENERAL DESCRIPTION:Performs highly advanced (senior-level) Direct Digital Controls (DDC) / HVAC building management systems work and maintaining Building Automation Systems (BAS) Service Agreements. Work involves performing, advising, scheduling, and auditing staff work with DDC Building Controls systems. Work is performed under minimal supervision, with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. ESSENTIAL DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Perform an array of technical, training, research, planning, policy, program assessment, and administrative activities related to Direct Digital Controls (DDC) / HVAC systems.2. Repair and replace control hardware such as digital controller panels, application-specific controllers, temperature and pressure sensors, transducers, transmitters, relays, motor starters and DDC.3. Provide network support for Statewide HVAC systems by loading and configuring various controls software applications and device drivers; design or edit user interface.4. Performs duties to develop and maintain Building Automation Systems Service Agreement.5. Perform preventative maintenance and calibration of temperature and pressure sensors, analog output devices, and special laboratory systems.6. Plan and install small-scale, in-house projects for building control systems; order parts and materials to complete projects and work.7. May deliver supplies to regions and assist HVAC technicians and electricians with projects.8. Collaborate in the planning, development, implementation, analysis, and documentation of an agency Direct Digital Control systems program.9. Collaborate with and train program staff and contractors in determining trends and resolving technical problems.10. Recommission entire building control systems to document and correct all deficiencies and optimize the efficiency of HVAC systems. 11. May develop policy and procedure manuals for DDC HVAC controls systems.12. Manage Building Automation Service Agreements.13. Attend work regularly and observe approved work hours in accordance with agency leave and attendance policies.14. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications: GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS and REQUIREMENTS: Education Graduation from an accredited trade school, community college or 4-year University with an emphasis in Direct Digital Controls/HVAC or related field. Experience Minimum six (6) years of extensive experience with DDC HVAC Systems Controls. Substitution Note: One year of education may be substituted for each year of experience required, up to four (4) years (30 semester hours will be considered equivalent to 1 year of education). Licensure and/or Certification Certifications with Siemens, Alerton, UR View, and Johnson Controls software/hardware is preferred. Must possess a valid driver license from state of residence. Regulatory knowledge Working knowledge of, or the ability to rapidly assimilate information related to TXDPS, State and Federal regulations, legislation, guidelines, policies and procedures. Technology Proficiency with Microsoft Office and appropriate levels of proficiency with utilized software and systems (e.g. CAPPS, SharePoint, BAS Systems) and be able to learn new software/systems. Skill in utilizing Johnson Controls Metasys Extended Architecture, Alerton, UR View, and Siemens Apogee software/hardware. Interpersonal Skills Must demonstrate an ability to exercise poise, tact, diplomacy and an ability to establish and maintain positive, working/professional relationships with internal/external customers.
