MAJOR GOAL:
This position is responsible for safely and efficiently operating a forklift or other powered material handling equipment (MHE) to move and stack merchandise. The scope of this position includes all phases of warehousing including, shipping, receiving, inventorying, product repackaging, palletizing and forklift operation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Operate all equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
Load, unload, move, stack and stage product.
Unload inbound shipments safely and move product to storage locations.
Pull and prepare product for shipment, ensuring that the exact number and type of product is loaded and shipped.
Efficiently move product from staging and/or storage areas into rail cars, trailers or containers.
Ensure inbound and outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage.
Assist in physical inventories.
Maintain a clean neat and orderly work area.
Education & Experience:
High school or G.E.D. degree; minimum three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Certificates/Licenses/Registrations:
Certified license of powered material handling equipment.
Physical Activity Level:
The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds unassisted. The employee must be able to carry and climb a ladder. Must be capable of standing and walking for extended periods (at least 2 hours straight, four times in an 8-hour day).
