Proactively patrol or work a fixed post while protecting the property of The University of Texas at Austin to prevent crime, maintain the peace, suppress disturbances, and investigate criminal and unusual activities that may occur.Exercise independent and discretionary judgment within the parameters established by law, the Board of Regents Rules and Regulations, institutional administrative regulations and departmental policies and procedures.Detain and arrest criminal offenders where appropriate and authorized by law.Proficient with all equipment utilized in the performance of assigned duties, to include but not limited to, firearms, restraints, less lethal force weapons, vehicles, communication equipment, computers, investigative and surveillance equipment.Other related functions as assigned.
