Whole Foods Market Merchandising Presentation Planner in Austin, Texas

We’re excited to announce an opening for a Merchandising Presentation Planner, a vital role in ensuring our stores reflect our commitment to excellence and innovation.

Role Overview: As a Merchandising Presentation Planner, you will be responsible for developing, and implementing merchandising and space planning strategies that support our planogram production. You will collaborate with various partner teams to craft the category strategy and work along side the category merchants to ensure there is alignment during the entire process. Additionally, you will play a key part in training and educating Team Members to enhance our space planning capabilities and related analysis.

Location: This hybrid position is based in Austin, TX and will require a minimum of three days per week in our downtown offices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Visual Merchandising: Create, document, and manage visual merchandising programs and planograms for multiple categories, optimizing product visuals and space efficiency.

  • Strategy Development: Participate in the development of team space planning strategies and priorities.

  • Space Planning Planograms : Work with merchant teams to create various iterations of space planning planograms .

  • Planogram Critique: Review planograms based on visual merchandising standards, customer shopability , space efficiency, and store execution; make necessary adjustments.

  • Systems and Tools Development: Collaborate with business partners to develop and deliver necessary systems and tools for timely and accurate space planning, planograms, reporting, and analysis.

  • Team Training: Provide training on tools, systems, and analysis to increase overall knowledge within the space planning team.

  • Data Management: Develop and maintain databases and systems for accurate data management supporting space planning software.

  • Communication: Communicate plans and details to regions and stores to ensure optimal customer service and profitability.

  • Process Improvement: Network with other business groups to identify gaps and synergies, suggesting process and communication improvements.

  • Data Coordination: Collect, coordinate, and verify all required data for planogram production.

  • Store Support: Respond to store implementation questions/problems and make actionable recommendations for future improvements.

    Required Skills:

  • Advanced space management software experience ( JDA/Blue Yonder; Relex; Etc )

  • In-depth knowledge of the space planning process, with the ability to analyze and decipher performance data.

  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, Word, Adobe Acrobat, Photoshop, Internet Explorer product movement software, report writing, and query software.

  • Thorough, accurate , and timely task execution.

  • Quick and effective response to routine and exceptional situations.

  • Strong rapport-building and trust-earning capabilities with colleagues.

  • Collaborative, team-oriented work style.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Effective presentation skills and responsiveness in meetings involving various stakeholders.

  • Basic research, information gathering, and analytical skills to select appropriate alternatives , collect required information, and assess information accuracy.

  • Problem-solving skills for detailed, structured issues, and process/system inconsistencies.

  • Understanding of company, organizational, and project strategies, goals, and objectives .

  • Ability to identify alignment/misalignment of team project goals with larger organizational strategies.

    Education & Experience:

  • BA/BS degree and 2-4 years of relevant experience, OR an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
