Our Neuromodulation business is an area of expertise for Abbott. This business includes implantable devices compatible with mobile technology to help people who suffer from chronic pain and movement disorders. Our Solutions include Proclaim (TM) XR SCS System, the #1 Spinal cord stimulator on the market, Proclaim (TM) DRG Neurostimulator, the only FDA approved DRG therapy and a market leader in radiofrequency ablation therapy, Abbott RFA. These non-opioid therapies allow us to provide interventional pain therapy to patients throughout the pain continuum. Our deep brain stimulation technology for progressive diseases help people manage their Parkinson’s disease and essential tremor symptoms, steering away from side effects.

Our location in Austin, TX currently has an opportunity for a Senior Financial Analyst. The Financial Analyst is responsible for financial planning, reporting and analysis. Prepares financial plans and forecasts based on performance expectations. Gathers and publishes financial information related to historical, current and future performance. Performs financial analysis utilizing appropriate financial concepts and techniques.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Develop detailed financial forecasts incorporating historic, trended and current business information.

  • Monitor functional and departmental spending versus budget by highlighting material variances using system generated detail and trend reports.

  • Prepare journal entries and assist in month end close as needed to ensure proper accounting at the functional and departmental level.

  • Prepare and distribute financial reports and packages by gathering and analyzing information related to current performance.

  • Perform financial analysis, as directed by management, and recommend alternatives courses of action by utilizing appropriate financial tools . (e.g. • EVA, NPV analysis).

  • Evaluate new business opportunities, potential acquisitions, new products, tax planning and spending initiatives by modeling alternative financial scenarios (e.g. revenues, profitability etc).

  • Prepare sensitivity analysis impact on revenue, expenses and profitability by modeling changes in key variables.

  • Develop and utilize sound financial processes.

  • Cultivates a wide range of internal networks and begins to develop an external network of resources to facilitate completion of tasks.

  • May demonstrate basic project management skills by acting as a project lead on small, well defined projects.

  • Provides guidance to less experienced staff.

  • Influence exerted at peer level and occasionally at first levels of management.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU’LL BRING

Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, related field, or equivalent work experience.

  • 3+ years of progressive analyst experience, within the healthcare industry is a plus

  • Requires comprehensive written and verbal communication, interpersonal, facilitation, presentation, quantitative, analytical, organizational, and follow-up skills, the ability to meet deadlines on multiple projects as well as the ability to converse effectively with all levels of employees

  • Must be skilled in the use of financial modeling

  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel

Preferred

  • Medical device industry experience

  • An advanced credential, such as an MBA, CPA, CMA, or CPIM designation or equivalent

  • Strong experience with SAP ERP system software and Hyperion Planning/Essbase systems

The base pay for this position is $72,700.00 – $145,300.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
