Job/Position DescriptionThe Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) Medicaid CHIP Services (MCS) division seeks a highly qualified candidate to fill the position of Strategic Operations Specialist. MCS is driven by its mission to deliver quality, cost-effective services to Texans. This position makes a significant contribution to MCSand#146;s mission by supporting the Director of Internal Operations in designing, integrating, and improving MCS administrative systems and processes. Reporting to the Director of Internal Operations in the Strategic Business Operations (SBO) unit, this role will ensure MCS has the proper operational controls, administrative systems and reporting procedures in place to continuously improve the organizationand#146;s internal operations. The position accomplishes this through a constructive and collaborative style, guided by the objectives of the department and with their fellow SBO teammates. The Strategic Operations Specialist will perform highly advanced (senior level) project management, process improvement and coordination activities. This position works under minimal supervision with extensive latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgement. Performs other duties as assigned and required to meet the mission and goals of the Strategic Business Operations unit. Essential Job FunctionsWorks collaboratively across MCS to identify innovative and effective solutions for clients and staff.Assists with the development and maintenance of internal operating standards, processes, and practices that are responsive and adaptable to evolving business needs (25%)Serves as the MCS main point of contact for agency open records requests and records review, management, and retention activities.
