Lentech, Inc Unix Administrator in Austin, Texas

Lentech is seeking an experienced Unix Administrator to provide both Unix and application administration to a large Federal application environment used by over 500,000 personnel. The ideal candidates should have at least six (6) or more years of experience with Redhat Enterprise Linux in a production environment providing patch management, upgrades, and security hardening and administration. In this role, the candidate must have experience in scripting to assist with automating tasks and to assist in troubleshooting application issues. Candidate should have experience supporting, configuring, troubleshooting, and working with Apache Tomcat as part of an application environment. Work Location: (Remote) Prefer Location Austin TX or Washington DC Clearance: Public Trust Job Functions and Responsibilities: Experience supporting UKG webTA and/or GovTA is highly desirable. The expectation for this position is that the candidate will expand their knowledge to include understanding the nuances of UKG GovTA and Tomcat and how they work together and will become a subject matter expert on supporting this Government application system. This includes learning other applications and tools that are part of the system as well and gaining at least a base knowledge of how the application interacts with the underlying Oracle database. In this role you will also work as part of a larger team with some after hours and weekend support required as needed to support patching, release management, and incident response activities. Candidates must be able to pass a background investigation and be cleared at the Public Trust level by the Federal agency we are supporting. AWS experience is a plus, and the expectation is for the candidate to have or obtain an AWS cloud certification within the first year. Lentech will assist with on-line training. REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelors degree or 6 years Unix Administration, application support with light scripting experience. Must have excellent written/verbal communication skills. Must be able to work extremely well with a highly diverse and interdisciplinary team. About Lentech, Inc.
