Now we are looking for a dynamic,outgoingand enthusiastic –Sous Chef Pastrywith strong background and experience inPastryand Culinaryfor Hospitalityto join our energetic,enthusiasticand passionate team at Grand Hyatt Bali.

TheSous Chef Pastryoversees the supply and production of baked goods and pastries. This person will supervise and train the team to create memorable andhigh qualityfood. Someadditionalresponsibilities include hiring, scheduling, coaching, and development.

As aSous Chef Pastry, you will be reporting directly to thePastry Chefand below are some of the key responsibilities:

  • Assiststo ensure that culinary activities are aligned with the respective Corporate Strategy, and that the Hotel Actions have been implemented whereappropriate.

  • Handles guest and employee enquiries in a courteous and efficient manner, reporting complaints or problems if no immediate solution can be found, whilst providing a prompt follow-up.

  • Work closely with other employees in a supportive and flexible manner, focusing on the overall success of the hotel and the satisfaction of hotel guests.

  • Frequently tastes bakery and pastry products in all outlets and be demanding and critical when it comes to Food and Beverage quality.

  • Focuses attention on improving productivity levels and the need to prudently manage utility/payroll costs within acceptable guidelines ensuringoptimumdeployment and energy efficiency of all equipment.

  • Ensureshigh standardsof personal presentation and grooming.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 1 year of solid experience asSous Chef Pastryin a large 5-star luxury hotel or resort.

  • Has a solid background of working in a high demand business environment.

  • Has strong leadership skills, train and develop team, and is a role model.

  • Eloquent in English communication in both written and spoken.

  • Is well versed in working with Property Management System such asBIRCHSTREET and other systems.

  • Has proven track of working with timelines and targets.

  • Highly conscientious and diligent.

  • Diploma in Hospitality or other relevant fields. ABachelor’s Degreeis a plus.
