Johns Hopkins University Phlebotomist in Baltimore, Maryland

Bayview Geriatric Psychiatry is seeking a Phlebotomist to be responsible for blood draws within the research lab for the Stress-AD study, a study of the association between stress and memory impairment in older individuals. This position reports to the Principal Investigator.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities

  • Perform blood collection procedures.

  • Process and package specimens.

  • Transport specimens to lab.

  • Coordinate and respond to lab inquiries.

  • Maintain and track lab supply needs.

  • Monitor lab procedures as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School diploma / GED.

  • Completion of a Phlebotomy training program or certificate.

  • Two (2) years of phlebotomy experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certification as a registered Phlebotomist by a nationally recognized agency is preferred (e.g., National Center for Competency Testing, American Medical Technologists, American Society for Clinical Pathology, American Society for Clinical Pathology, American Society of Phlebotomy Technicians, National Phlebotomy Association).

  • Technical qualifications or specialized certifications: Phlebotomy Technician Certification.

Starting Salary Range: $15.25 - $23.00 HRLY ($19.00 HRLY targeted; Commensurate with experience)

Employee group: Casual / On Call

Schedule: 18 hours per week / M-F

Exempt Status: Non-Exempt
