Northrop Grumman Missions Systems is seeking an experienced engineer in the following areas: RF/Microwave circuit board design layout and board manufacturing producibility for assembly level components such as RF manifolds, interposers, complex front-end RF tiles, antennas, TR modules, integrated circuit card functions for receiver/exciters such as waveform generators, receivers, converters, and mixed signal boards.

Typical Roles and Responsibilities include:

Work with a diverse and talented team of engineers developing innovative and cost-effective systems that support a broad range of products and business areas across the lifecycle of a program. Apply advanced technical principles, theories, and concepts while contributing to the development of new principles and concepts. Work will be performed under consultative direction toward predetermined long-range goals and objectives. Assignments are often self-initiated.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering or related discipline with 14 years of experience; or 12 years of experience with a Masters Degree; or 9 years of experience with a Ph. D. An additional 4 years of experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

  • US Citizenship is required.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.

  • Ability to develop highly novel solutions to a broad variety of RF/Microwave design and test related problems of complex difficulty which require the regular use of ingenuity and creativity

  • Established subject matter expertise in numerous areas of RF/Microwave discipline including but not limited to: Antenna, RF components & assemblies, circuit board design, production test support, and design for producibility

  • Exhibit expert proficiency with industry standard RF Board design tools (i.e. Eagleware/Genesys, Siemens Xpedition, AutoCAD, Valor)

  • Staff Engineers should have a demonstrated ability in technical and team leadership overseeing engineers with experience at least at the Sr. Principal level.

  • Proven knowledge of electrical engineering design software and equipment

  • Active electronically scanned arrays (AESAs) and lower level hardware

  • Receiver/Exciters and lower level hardware

  • Highly integrated subsystems including antenna and receive/exciter hardware

  • Reflectors, Reflect Arrays, Digital Beam Forming

  • RF circuit board design, layout, and artwork creation

  • Circuit board manufacturing process

  • Circuit board design for producibility

Preferred Qualifications:

  • DOD Secret Clearance

  • Extensive design experience with multi-layer complex circuit boards

  • Experience with agile software development methodologies including Scrum and Kanban

Salary Range: $150,000 - $225,000

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
