​​Azure Big data teams (Azure Databricks) present interesting challenges in technologies such as big-data, cloud, storage, and open-source. We build reliable, highly scalable, and highly performing distributed systems for data analytics on Azure. We are building next generation globally distributed, elastic scale, multi-model cloud database services. It is designed to enable developers to build planet-scale applications.

Responsibilities

​​Experienced in architecting and developing distributed systems. Ability to work with higher level stakeholders and influence your team and product.

Participates in onboarding, code/design reviews, and regular meetings with the engineering teams that develop and manage those products.

Responds to incidents during regular on-call rotations. Improves and optimizes supportability of the product through innovative ideas.

Monitor performance and reliability of services and troubleshoot problem areas as needed.

Shares insights and best practices that can be applied to improve the development and operations of the system. ​

Qualifications

Required /Minimum Qualifications

​​- 3-5 years technical experience in software engineering.

• Passion and experience in developing Restful services.

• Experience with Azure/Cloud computing platforms and deployment automation concepts like ARM templates or Terraform.

• Experience building large scale cloud services or analytics solutions on large datasets.

Other Requirements

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check:

• This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred/Additional Qualifications

​​Experience working with Azure service fabric & .NET Core.

Good understanding of concepts like OAuth, Identity Providers, IAM and RBAC.

Good understanding of Design, Design patterns, and Networking concepts.

Natural curiosity and willingness to question.

A deep desire to work collaboratively, solve problems with groups, find win/win solutions and celebrate successes.  

Experience building data pipelines, collecting metrics/logs and hauling data to storage specific to various needs (service monitoring, business monitoring etc.)
