Babcock & Wilcox Enterprises Inc Global Tax Director in BARBERTON, Ohio

The Director, Global Tax is responsible for the Company's global tax compliance, tax planning, and accounting for income taxes. This position will work with the CFO as well as Finance and Accounting Leadership to s et the strategic vision for the Company's tax function and effectively communicate tax objectives across the organization . This position will monitor reporting and planning, ensuring compliance with applicable tax statutes. This role will also work with businesses, service providers, and other tax professionals including managing any in-house tax staff and is responsible for overseeing all tax functions for the Company including any performed by a third-party service provider.

  • Ensure structural alignment of external and in-house tax resources with business requirements through proper allocation of department assets, maintenance of budgetary control and effective utilization of outside service providers.
  • Support of business through review of tax impact to projects, income, entities, etc and provide recommendations to management.
  • Oversight and guidance in connection with the Company's financial statement tax provision and related footnote disclosures .
  • Collaborate on related a udit conducted by external auditors
  • Oversee the third-party outsourcing provider, responsible for completion of federal, international, and state income tax returns, including technical review and analysis to ensure the compliance and accuracy of tax returns .
  • Lead and manage internal tax staff, including establishing policies and procedures .
  • Perform complex tax research and analysis and prepare written and oral communications supporting tax technical positions taken by the Company .
  • Develop tax savings plan ideas and direct the related project implementation .
  • Management oversight of tax controversy matters including audits, appeals and litigation.
  • Identification and implementation of tax minimization strategies including acquisition and disposition planning and integration.
  • Direct and maintain the tax department's internal control environment and applicable SOX documentation .

``` - Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field with 10 years tax related experience preferably in a combination of public accounting and large multi-national, multijurisdictional publicly traded company - Current CPA license and/or advanced degree in taxation preferred - Must exhibit strong executive presence as well as emotional int elligence and personal maturity - Comprehensive understanding of tax and tax accounting principles and the ability to apply these principles in federal consolidated returns, international tax aspects of the US federal tax code and unitary and combine d state and local tax reporting - Strong communication skills, strategic agility, and business acumen - Profici ent in M S Suite of products
