Actalent Electrical Construction Manager in Batavia, Ohio

Construction Project Manager

Join our leading team in the pet care industry, where innovation in pet nutrition and product development sets us apart. As a Construction Project Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing projects that support our Site Master Plan and facilities upgrades. You will coordinate project activities among various teams and external parties, ensuring projects meet cost, quality, and timing expectations. Your responsibilities will also include early project development, information gathering, defining project tasks, submitting funding requests, implementing project changes, space planning, and post-completion follow-ups.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the oversight of the following project work activities: raceway, cable tray, electrical panels, ductbank, grounding, switchgear, transformers, low and medium voltage electrical equipment, wiring, motors, heat tracing, instrumentation, instrumentation calibrations, loop checks and point to point checks, and electrical and control testing.

• Responsible for overall supervision of construction effort, which includes: safety, productivity of crafts, efficient use of materials and equipment, materials management, scheduling, engineering, and contractual performance of the project.

• Responsible for subcontractor contractual compliance on designated electrical

construction related activities.

• Build effective client and subcontractor relationships. Interface with client representatives, A/E representatives, and other contractors.

• Collaborate with project management to develop and implement project procedures, working documents, and standards.

• Authorize purchase requisitions, field design change requests, etc., under supervision of Construction Manager and Project Manager.

• Provide technical assistance, interpretation of drawings, and recommendation of construction methods and equipment.

• Responsible for overall project safety. Reviews and audits site specific safety documentation, including Pre-Task Analysis (PTAs) and Task Safety Observations (TSOs) on a regular basis.

• Provide oversight of electrical and instrumentation installation. Conduct and record related tests and provide oversight for the calibration of instruments.

• Complete daily field reports and take daily pictures to document construction progress.

• Assess future work activities and identify any concerns with work plans by utilizing subcontractors 3-week look ahead report.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.

• Minimum of 7 years construction management experience on electrical projects.

•Must have excellent communication skills, strong leadership skills

• Computer proficiency in Microsoft Suite.

Work Environment

This is a fully on-site position in Batavia, Ohio.

You will collaborate with diverse teams including Site Services, Information Systems, Telecommunications, consulting firms, and outside contractors. This role requires interacting with customer groups for capital expenditures and involves supporting the Group Manager in Engineering, Design, and Construction.
