Logistics Manager

Monitor regulations related to logistics asset, understand their impacts to operations and work with operations to stay in compliance with regulations
Identify technical requirements for leased or purchased assets
Determine and document asset specifications with input of Engineering and Dangerous Goods Leader
Collaborate with Procurement in sourcing and purchasing efforts to ensure that procured assets support the functional requirements
Collaborate with Procurement for asset related service providers (e.g., maintenance, storage) to ensure that selected vendors can provide the needed service level
Develop and monitor budget for leasing, maintenance and other services related to logistics assets
Coordinate asset maintenance program to ensure that logistics assets are being properly maintained and staying in regulatory compliance
Coordinate with 3rd party service providers to ensure required service with asset tracking, asset reporting, maintenance and other services
Coordinate with 3rd party service providers as needed to resolve operational issues
Rail Operations Support
Monitor regulations related to rail operations, understand their impacts to operations and work with operations to stay in compliance with regulations
Collaborate with Procurement in sourcing and purchasing efforts to ensure that procured services support the functional requirements
Monitor and report on rail fleet utilization and work with Global Logistics Leaders to improve performance
Coordinate with 3rd party service providers to ensure required service with asset tracking, asset reporting, maintenance and other services
Coordinate with 3rd party service providers as needed to resolve operational issues
Process and Cost Improvement
Identify and lead programs to improve operational performance and capability across PMT sites with respect to logistics assets and rail operations
Implement and manage metrics to monitor operational performance for assets and rail operations
Collaborate with Global Logistics Leaders on fleet sizing processes to optimize the asset portfolio
Oversees implementation of proper loading and unloading procedures with site personnel in alignment with regulatory requirements
Work with Finance, Global Logistics Leaders, and others to understand and report on the logistics spending for the businesses in PMT related to logistics assets and rail
Participate in cross functional cost review processes
Work with freight payment groups (external or internal) to identify and resolve issues as needed
Support improvement projects led by other groups with respect to asset or rail operations
U.S. PERSON REQUIREMENTS
Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status.
Basic Qualifications:
At least 8 years' experience working with logistics operations
At least 3 years' experience with rail operations and logistics assets
B.S. in Engineering, Information Systems, Logistics or Business related field
Preferred Qualifications:
Strong financial and business acumen
Strong communications capability
Demonstrated ability to lead teams and build teamwork to accomplish business objectives
Demonstrated ability to identify business process issues and opportunities and to implement effective improvements and control plans
Experience and comfort using ERP and reporting systems
Experience and comfort using all MS Office applications
SAP experience preferred
Chemicals industry experience preferred
Six Sigma Green Belt/Lean certification preferred
Demonstrated ability to use influence to obtain business results
Experience working in a matrix organization preferred
