Robert Half Treasury Manager in Battle Creek, Michigan

Description

We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Treasury Manager in the non-profit sector based in the Battle Creek, Michigan area. This role is 99% remote with one hour onsite per month on a Friday for a lunch meeting. This role involves overseeing various accounting functions, supervising financial staff, and performing complex accounting tasks. The Treasury Manager will also be responsible for preparing financial records, monitoring cash positions, and disbursing funds, among other duties.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee accounting and financial functions within the office

• Supervise fiscal team and provide leadership to cashiers

• Approve revenue processing and ensure compliance with various governmental regulations

• Manage vault cash, checks, and daily deposits and act as a liaison with the Finance Department and other departments

• Monitor the office budget and track variances regularly

• Compile and submit property tax, Unclaimed Property and audit reports to relevant agencies

• Manage Delinquent Tax Revolving Fund Audit and support the County Audit

• Reconcile accounts and prepare adjusting entries in coordination with the Finance Office

• Initiate and manage ACH transactions, bank user access for the county departments, reviewing and clearing inter-funds

• Develop and maintain cash flow forecasting for all funds and recommend investment management strategies per policies and statutes

• Implement fiscal policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with GAAP/GASB.

Skills:

• MUST HAVE Proficiency in Tyler Technologies Munis

• MUST HAVE Experience in Adjusting Journal Entries

Requirements

• Must have a Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in treasury operations within a non-profit organization

• Proficiency in Tyler Technologies Munis is A MUST

• Experience in preparing and adjusting journal entries is a MUST

• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail

• Proven ability to manage and lead a team

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

• Strong understanding of financial regulations and legislation

• Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel

• Certified Treasury Professional (CTP) certification is a plus

• Must have a deep understanding of financial trends and market behavior.
