Carmeuse Americas Riverside - Dockman in BATTLETOWN, Kentucky
Description:
The dock man is responsible for assisting the boat pilot and deck hand in the loading process of aggregate into deck/hopper barges. Equipment operation is including but not limited to front end loader, winches, and water pumps. The dock man is expected to perform general maintenance around the dock system and its equipment when downtime exist and during scheduled maintenance intervals.
Responsibilities & Requirements:
Positive attitude toward safety
Confident working around/on the river
Working knowledge of the river and barges is preferred but not required
Ability to safely and effetely operate front end loader
Ability to walk on inclined walkways/ stair to gain access to work area
Ability to climb ladder ranging from 10’-15’ in height
Ability to work in all weather conditions
Able to lift up to 50lbs
Ability to shovel, sweep, wash aggregate from barge decks
High School Diploma or GED
