Summary of the Role:

The GlobalFoundries Technical Program Manager (TPM) in the Application Engineering support team is responsible for customer design support and managing the technical execution of tapeouts to GlobalFoundries. He/she is the central point of contact in the technical customer interaction. GlobalFoundries' state-of-the-art Silicon Photonics, RF SiGe, Specialty High Voltage, CMOS, SOI and FinFET technologies are part of the supported technologies.

In addition to program management tasks one key objective is to direct customer technical questions to subject matter experts and monitor the timely execution. The TPM team also provides occasional technical updates sessions at the customer’s site or on-line. Attending customer business review meetings together with the account team is also part of the role and this includes taking minutes as wells as managing action items.

The candidate will be responsible to drive clients’ requests and insight into the internal Design Enablement and Technology Development teams, resulting in increased competitiveness of GlobalFoundries Design Enablement and Technologies in the marketplace, and higher client satisfaction. Experience with industry standard chip development tools and design development expertise is highly appreciated as well as foundry process knowledge. Managing project timelines, actions and monitoring milestones are part of the role. Problem solving and personal communication skills are used heavily. This position offers direct customer interaction and requires the ability to represent GlobalFoundries in the daily communication with customers.

Your main responsibilities are as follows:

  • Serve as key technical interface to customer and coordinate technical interaction.

  • Manage GF design support and tapeout related systems.

  • Identify and propose solutions to gaps and bottlenecks in the GLOBALFOUNDRIES product and service portfolio to meet customer requirements.

  • Continuously learn about the customer and product, developing relationships, gathering intelligence, uncovering new opportunities.

  • Ensure that issues/ obstacles/ questions during the development phase are resolved either directly or by engaging internal experts.

  • Manage proactively customer tapeout process until successful mask making.

  • Overcome internal system/communication limitations through persistency, identifying and driving towards applicable solution.

  • Meet tape out related goals.

  • Capability to work independently with little guidance.

Your profile:

  • Bachelor’s/ Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering with long lasting years of experience in Semiconductors (Technology or Design)

  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

  • Good teamwork, flexibility, and positive attitude

  • Customer facing and technical experience.

  • Persistent and focused on solution when encountering internal system/communication obstacles.

  • Exposure to design and/or chip IP development

  • Exposure and competence in design environment/ enablement flows and tools

  • Past participation in roles with exposure to or within a foundry/manufacturing as well as experience with advanced technology and SOC design are highly desirable

  • Exposure to ISO-26262 or automotive design is required

  • Program management skills and experience required

  • Travel up to 10% (flexible)

  • Fluency in English Language – written & verbal
