Nike Lead Designer, Womens WNBA Apparel Graphic Design in Beaverton, Oregon

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

We’re currently looking for a Lead Graphic Designer, to create seasonal design concepts for Nike Women’s Global sports, focusing on the work we do with the WNBA. Our team works on highly visible uniform design at Nike. This is where sport, design and culture meet and where we are redefining apparel for both athletes and fans.

This role requires passion and creativity, along with versatility and focus to see designs through the product creation process and bring them to life on the world’s biggest stages. It takes a dedicated team player that knows how to collaborate, take feedback and juggle multiple projects at one time. This designer will also need the ability to translate complex insights into authentic narratives and design solutions that will elevate the future of sport apparel at Nike.

WHAT WILL YOU WORK ON?

Concepting, sketching, and presenting groundbreaking innovative Nike design. You will collaborate across functional teams to deliver your ideas to physical products, this includes working with your development and business partners, along with Athletes* down to the smallest details from choosing trims and print applications to creating presentations to be communicated to teams. You will use your skills to contribute to and or create narratives and visuals for uniform design. You will be challenged by a wide range of responsibilities and experiences.

WHO WILL YOU WORK WITH?

You will be working with multiple teams of designers, developers, and product managers to deliver creative in line with the Nike Design Ethos. This opportunity will require strong collaborative skills to meet deadlines, ensure feasibility of designs, while talking your partners through the thinking behind your work. This role does not have direct reports.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING?

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic or Apparel Design, 5 years or more of graphic design experience at agency or in-house setting, or equivalent combination of relevant education, experience, and training.

  • Passion and understanding of current and emerging design trends and visual culture.

  • Ability to translate insights into authentic narratives and visual storytelling.

  • Ability to adapt to change and handle multiple, competing priorities.

  • Proficient understanding of typography design and trends.

  • Strong visual and verbal communication skills, able to effectively present design intent to internal and external audiences.

  • Proficient in sketching, illustration, print and pattern, color theory and layout.

  • Proficient in graphic applications, development, PR and schematic tools and the apparel product creation processes.

  • Proficient in Adobe CC and comfortable working within new digital spaces.
