As a Benefits Administrator, you'll manage health and welfare benefits programs, including retirement plans, leave policies, and health and wellness programs. This role involves ensuring compliance with regulations, managing vendor relationships, and providing leadership in benefit design and administration.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide expertise in benefits programs and best practices, ensuring programs are competitive, cost-effective, legally compliant, and well-communicated.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations related to benefits, and keep HR leadership informed.
  • Analyze employee satisfaction with benefits programs and advise on competitive offerings.
  • Manage vendor relationships and third-party contracts related to benefits programs.
  • Lead, coach, and manage performance of team members responsible for leave management programs.
  • Work with brokers and benefit carriers to resolve eligibility and file feed issues.
  • Maintain accurate files on benefit providers, plan descriptions, contracts, and related documents.
  • Plan and coordinate open enrollment for health insurance and 401k updates, and handle benefits administration, including claims resolution and statement reconciliation.
  • Ensure timely processing of employee status changes and maintain up to date HRIS records.
  • Provide HR leadership in interpreting and applying policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with laws like FMLA, WFCA, 401K, COBRA, and EEOC.
  • Collaborate with HR team members to ensure consistent policy application and organizational trend analysis.
  • Ensure COBRA compliance and manage premium payments.
  • Complete 401K and EEO-1 audits and reporting annually, maintaining records in compliance with EEO regulations.
  • Provide orientation and training on all benefits for new employees.

Job Details:

  • Location: South King County
  • Pay: $64,000-$66,000 per year, depending on experience.
  • Temp-to-Hire or Direct Hire opportunity

     

Candidate Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in benefits management.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience administering defined contribution plans.
  • Knowledge and expertise in benefits administration, including development of policies and programs.
  • Comprehensive understanding of health and welfare plans and 403(b) plan administration.
  • Knowledge of COBRA, ERISA, HIPAA, ACA, and applicable federal and state leave laws.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage confidential and sensitive information.
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
