Amazon is seeking a Workplace Health and Safety Program Manager to join the Operations Excellence (OpEx) division of the Workplace Health and Safety team. In this role, you will collaborate with senior Operations, Engineering, and EHS leaders to improve internal processes, automate manual processes, and drive continuous improvement in the rapidly expanding Last Mile organizations.

In this role, you will be responsible for conceptualizing, piloting, and deploying risk reduction initiatives such as automation and technology enhancements within our operations. Additionally, the candidate will manage new program launches, root cause analyses, as well as overseeing the cross-functional levers of large-scale capital enhancements. This role requires the ability to balance multiple projects while maintaining the highest quality standards and consistently delivering on key milestones.

Key job responsibilities

· Provide consistent program management and support large scale projects relating to Amazon's Last Mile Operations.

· Lead the development and implementation of EHS standards, procedures, guidelines and peer-to-peer training to support novel risk reduction projects.

· Work closely with internal subject matter experts to gather information, understand deliverables, and drive decision-making at the highest levels of the organization.

· Conduct postmortem program evaluations and identify strengths/weakness, effectiveness, and opportunities for revision to ensure continual improvement.

· Manages the project development lifecycle including kickoff and checkpoint meetings with stakeholders, narrative reviews, production timelines, and quality assurance.

· Must be highly organized and detail-oriented, yet flexible and able to adjust changing business priorities.

· Provide solution-focused support in the areas of design-in-safety, risk assessment, job hazard analysis, and development of safety systems.

A day in the life

NOTE: This is a hybrid role, requiring Program Managers to be on-site at least 3 days a week in a corporate office. Some travel may be required (no more than 25%)

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of program or project management experience

  • Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements

  • Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership

  • Bachelor's degree

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years of driving process improvements experience

  • Master's degree, or MBA in business, operations, human resources, adult education, organizational development, instructional design or related field

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $104,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
