Amazon transportation collectively represents some of the most critical components of Amazon’s first-class transportation network. This organization oversees all global middle and last mile products, spanning B2B and B2C, critical partners, enterprise and SMB customers across numerous teams. This includes—but is not limited to—Amazon Freight, Amazon Relay, Amazon Freight Partners, Amazon Shipping, Amazon Flex, Amazon Hub, Amazon Hub Delivery and delivery service partner. Everything we do is aimed at further delighting our customers, partners and employees with faster, cheaper, and more efficient means of shipping and receiving packages.

Creative Garage (CG) is the central creative team supporting the portfolio of global transportation products. The team focuses on building brand awareness, recognition, acquisition and engagement with global transportation brands through the human stories behind logistics. The team builds and owns the global brands and the creative expression of these brands throughout the customer journey. We work closely with global marketing and customer insights partners to test and learn creative, ensuring our design solutions resonate with the target audience. We have high standards and strive to continuously raise the bar across all creative elements.

The Senior Creative Program Manager will oversee execution and day-to-day processes of creative projects supporting high-profile, high-impact business initiatives. They will have a proven understanding of various creative workflows, and an ability to evaluate, create, and document scalable mechanisms for our studio to increase efficiency and frugality. They are the face of Creative Garage, responsible for building effective partnerships with both our creative team and clients. They driving cross functional team alignment across multiple business partners and external agencies globally. They demonstrate exceptional ownership and bias for action, strong strategic thinking and problem solving, and maintain clear and concise communication across all levels of leadership. They will develop a strong knowledge of Amazon and Amazon Transportation products. They are nimble and agile—able to flex across project management, resource management, and program reporting.

This role is a key counterpart to senior leadership, actively participating in planning, goal development and tracking, and resource management. They deliver vision-setting documents that inspire teams and raise the bar for Amazon. They thrive in ambiguity, are undaunted by headwinds, productively challenge teams and senior leaders, and are a trusted proxy by management to represent Creative Garage at the highest levels.

Key job responsibilities

  • Triage and traffic all new creative requests submitted to the studio, quickly assessing information gaps and identifying owners and next steps.

  • Develop and manage creative development processes end-to-end (from concept to production) across various mediums (such as video, digital, social, OOH, direct mail, events, sales collateral), ensuring projects are delivered on-time and within budget.

  • Exceptional skills in Continuous Improvement Process mechanisms, constantly seeking ways to improve team productivity and throughput.

  • Maintain workload balance across all studio members, strategically planning and assigning each project to internal and external resources to effectively optimize the pipeline.

  • Manage program reporting and studio health across finance, QBRs, WBRs, client satisfaction, and team goals.

  • Identify and document tool and process innovations that systematically improve studio efficiency, output, and overall quality of the work.

  • Owns studio updates through strategic change management communications across creative operations, creative team, and business stakeholders.

  • Excels at building relationships with client partners and peers. Educates business partners on studio process and SLAs, understand their pain points and objectives, and consult on potential solutions.

  • Manage external contractors, vendors, and agencies, including facilitating RFPs, contracts, onboarding, and day-to-day management

  • Anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, anticipate and make tradeoffs, and balance business needs versus technical constraints.

  • Present studio work and updates to stakeholders and cross-functional partners, including senior management up to VP level

  • Build trust, respect, and credibility with stakeholders, management peers, direct reports, and executives.

  • Employ sound critical thinking & problem-solving approaches, comes to the table with solutions.

  • Comfortable taking ownership in an ambiguous environment.

  • Promote a sense of transparency, visibility, and community among our team.

  • Engages in active listening and gathers diverse perspectives, knowing when and where to provide sometimes divergent perspective.

Basic Qualifications

  • Knowledge of project management tools and methodologies (agile to waterfall)

  • Experience escalating issues, anticipating and making trade-offs, balance the business need versus other constraints and maximize business benefit while building great customer experiences

  • Experience gathering and analyzing large amounts of data and delivering continuous business improvements

  • Experience working and contributing to project playbooks, building schedules, managing issues/risks, establishing communication plans and stakeholder management

  • 9+ years of experience as a Creative Program Manager, Project Manager, or a related role.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in digital technologies and creative process platforms (PM software, etc.)

  • Experience in cross-channel deliverables—photography, video, digital, social, print, OOH

  • Experience with the print production process and managing press checks and printed file delivery

  • Experience gathering and analyzing large amounts of data and delivering continuous business improvements

  • Excellent verbal/written communication and organizational skills.

  • Background managing vendor negotiations and contracting

  • Excellent judgment with the ability to proactively identify issues/obstacles and effectively create solutions

  • Strong process improvement background and creative and project management skills (e.g. CIP, KANBAN, Kaizen, etc). Attention to detail is crucial

  • Proven ability to deliver results and prioritize tasks in a fast-moving, dynamic environment.

  • Experience partnering effectively with global or geographically diverse teams

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication

  • B2B, transportation and/or logistics design experience a bonus, but not required

  • Basic understanding of and/or experience in the freight shipping/supply chain or similar industry a bonus, but not required

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $103,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $192,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
