Cadence Design Systems Inc. (https://www.cadence.com/) is looking for a motivated, experienced, team-oriented Lead Systems Engineer to be part of our IT R&D Solutions team in Brazil . The hired employee will work closely with the Cadence product development teams to provide solutions for our global compute farm that improve s the way we build, test, and run Cadence products. Our focus areas include building strong partnerships with R&D, proposing and implementing emerging technologies to improve productivity , and maintaining engineering infrastructure . Additionally, this role will have the opportunity to support Information Security initiatives and operations.

Job Description:

• Support R&D users in EDA software development and IP designs

• Build opensource packages, apply patches and investigate issues

• Work closely with the InfoSec team to build and maintain environments that comply with high - secur ity standards

• Evaluate modern technologies and service offerings that have the potential to improve the experience for the users

• Partner with other IT members to create, deploy, and optimize solutions supporting IT initiatives

  Requirements :

• Education: ​ b achelor’s degree in Computer Science (or) Engineering or equivalent ​

• Experience: 3+ years of experience working with Linux OS, compilers and system administration

• Language: Fluent E nglish

• Solid understanding of Linux/Unix operating systems

• Proficient in Python, shell scripting, or other scripting languages. Experience with C/C++ is a plus

• Knowledge of IBM Spectrum LSF or other job schedulers

• Experience with system administration, monitoring, logging, and maintenance

• Great problem solving and debugging skills

• Algorithms and data structure experience

• Strong desire to learn more about server farm and EDA software

• Capable of interacting with technical and functional teams and communicating challenges and risks

  Nice to have:

• ​ ​ Knowledge of EDA software ​

• Experience working with containers

• Experience with security tools (E.g., system administration, password management )

• SQL based database knowledge

  As a plus, the candidate could be exposed to:

• Development of web systems based on Python and Django

• Develop scripts to automate tasks
