Job Description

As a Machine Operator, you will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating the operating crew, as well as operating the mill to produce high-quality products in compliance with company policies and procedures. You will receive instructions from the Plant Manager or Production Supervisor and promote healthy and safe work practices as required by regulatory agencies and company policy. Duties include operating the mill, coordinating the mill operating crew, adjusting rolls and welding power, performing mill changeovers, maintaining equipment, and reporting any irregularities or malfunctions. Regular, full-time, predictable onsite attendance per the posted schedule is an essential function of this role.

Hard Skills

  • Heavy industrial manufacturing experience

Job Type

This is a permanent position.

Work Environment

This role operates in shifts. The east shift hours are 1st: 7am-3pm, 2nd: 3pm-11pm, and 3rd: 11pm-7am, while the west shift hours are 1st: 5am-3pm, 2nd: 3pm-1am, and 3rd: 11pm-7am. Overtime is expected, with volunteers working on average 50 hours a week. Training will take place on the 1st shift for at least 4 weeks before transitioning to the 2nd or 3rd shift. The work environment is protected from weather conditions but not from temperature changes.
