Red Hat Project Manager - Red Hat Academy in Bengaluru, India

About the job:

Red Hat's Global Learning Services team is looking for a Project Manager to help support the Red Hat Academy Program. In this role, you will be responsible to actively manage cross-functional projects that are global and diverse in nature. You will also be responsible to recruit and manage partners, support regional teams to meet their objectives, recommend opportunities to grow the Red Hat Academy program, develop new and improve existing operational processes and ensure we deliver a high quality academic program.

What will you do?

  • Assist Red Hat Academy’s global program owner to achieve program goals

  • Develop opportunities to expand the Red Hat Academy Program

  • Ability to initiate projects effectively to include development and presentation of project kickoffs internally and with partners

  • Actively manage diverse projects to successful completion from initiation through delivery and closure with minimal supervision through integration of various project management tools

  • Ongoing performance improvements to ensure better quality, increased efficiencies and improved user experience

  • Define processes and metrics to drive and measure consumption and quality of the Red Hat Academy program

  • Plan, schedule, monitor, and report on activities related to each project

  • Coordination of cross-functional teams (through meetings and progress measurement activity) which bring distinct, specific projects to completion both on time and within budget

  • Create awareness of the Red Hat Academy program through presentations and other collateral to both internal and external audences both online and at conferences

  • Define and implement guidelines and processes to prevent abuse of program benefits

  • Develop and maintain collateral to support the Red Hat Academy Program

  • Define, develop, generate, maintain and report metrics that measure the success of the Red Hat Academy Program both qualitatively and quantatatively.

  • Ensure adherence to legally binding requirements

What will you bring?

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, or communications with demonstrated technical expertise

  • Experience as a program or project manager in an IT academy program offered by a software or technology vendors is highly desired

  • Experienced project management professional with a full understanding of industry standard project managementmethods

  • Certification at PMI or PMP level or equivalent.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal skills, presentation skills, leadership skills, analytical abilities, and business judgment

  • Ability to work globally outside normal business hours

  • 5+ years experience as a project manager for IT training based projects, management of IT academy program projects is highly desired

  • Ability to coordinate necessary internal and external groups to create business plans

  • Ability to effectively communicate concepts and initiatives in a compelling manner to audiences of varying size and background

  • Comfort working in a collaborative environment, with good team leadership skills

  • Excellent analytical, problem solving, and creative thinking skills

  • Takes ownership of issue / problem resolution by ensuring systematic and timely risk / issue tracking, appropriate escalations/follow up and regular status reporting

  • Ability to interact with senior Red Hat and vendor / partner management at all levels.

  • Experience establishing and contributing to process improvements

  • Experience dealing with complex projects, as well as multicultural and multidisciplinary teams

  • Ability to work effectively across a widely diverse management team, as well as a broad spectrum of internal and external partners

  • Detail oriented and able to work in a fast-paced environment

  • Ability to leverage various types of media to tell factual stories clearly, creatively, and succinctly.
