Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

• 5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, and with data structures/algorithms.

• 3 years of experience testing, maintaining, or launching software products, and 1 year of experience with software design and architecture.

• 3 years of experience with iOS application development.

Preferred qualifications:

• Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science, or a related technical field.

• 3 years of experience with performance, large-scale systems data analysis, visualization tools, or debugging.

• 1 year of experience in a technical leadership role.

• Experience collaborating with Engineer, Program Manager, and UX counterparts.

• Experience building user-facing graphics software.

• Experience developing accessible technologies.

In this role, you will have an opportunity to build a brand new app. It is driven by a novel UX and feature set, with the support of the YouTube Media Engine and Machine Learning (ML) team. You will build a video editor that is meaningfully differentiated from market leaders and will help a new generation of mobile-native video creators.

• Help build a high-performance mobile app for video editing, backed by YouTube.

• Work closely with our UX and Program Manager teams.

• Work closely with partner teams to integrate media processing, effects production, fun assets, client infrastructure, and more.

• Work in a combination of Flutter for much of UX and data layer of the app and native Android/iOS for media and backend integrations.
