We are looking for Senior Engineering Manager who is passionate and creative about building complex architectures to join our Cloud Service Engineering team.

  • You will have an opportunity to drive the development of our next generation Analytics Applications, including

  • Drive a team of motivated engineers to build sophisticated technical platforms to support multiple micro-services

  • Ensure high technical standards by instituting processes like architecture/design reviews, improvised unit testing, Dev CICD adoption.

  • Coordinate execution of complex platform evolutions and collaborate across multiple teams to drive cross-cutting projects

  • Support engineers in their career development, conducting quarterly reviews and providing constructive feedback

  • Work with engineering and product leadership to build a long-term roadmap

  • Hire motivated, diverse, culturally fit and efficient engineers to build an outstanding team

The ideal candidate will have experience in driving teams for designing, implementing and leading platform development for running enterprise applications on cloud.

  • Expertise in Java and AWS/Azzure/Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Stack – with experience in designing a highly scale-able and distributed system

  • Strong understanding of cloud computing, load balancing, networking and defining infrastructure as code.

  • Experience in running a multi-tenanted service on a multi-region cloud and/or supervising and leading large enterprise applications is a must

  • Strong experience in building highly scalable enterprise applications on Java, J2EE technologies and exposure to OCI Stack is desired.

  • Possess a solid computer science background, strong design, programming, and debugging skills.

Responsibilities

As a manager of the software engineering division, you will apply your knowledge of software architecture to manage software development tasks associated with developing, debugging or designing software applications, operating systems and databases according to provided design specifications. Build enhancements within an existing software architecture and suggest improvements to the architecture.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Lead a talent team of dedicated engineers cultivating excellent employee engagement while setting clear expectations, measuring performance, providing feedback

  • Ensure the team builds high quality deliveries responsible for testing, quality, and adhere to service level agreements of a product

  • Experience building and running cloud platforms or embracing to new concepts in the SaaS space

  • Comfortable working cross-functionality with product management and directly with customers; ability to understand product and customer personas

  • Design and develop scalable application frameworks for running enterprise grade applications on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure across multiple realms and regions.

  • Design and implement application containers and develop scalable architecture patterns for a mult-tenanted service

  • Collaborate with service application development teams to gather their platform requirements and revise the platform code to meet those application needs

  • Make effective judgments and choices on design and roadmap based on various considerations. Have a good broader business understanding and attitude, while technically leading efforts in specific areas.

  • Ability to work in a very fast paced and challenging, global environment, with teams responsible for managing global service deployment

  • Take ownership of internal security compliance requirements and champion the rollout across teams

  • Rapidly iterate with independently testable artifacts while collaborating actively with a very hardworking team of engineers.

  • Conduct quarterly reviews, yearly appraisals for team members providing constructive feedback

  • Hire new talent, coordinate for conducting interviews and selection process to form a team with diverse abilities.

Preferred skills and qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree in Computer Science/Engineering or Master’s from one of the top Universities.

  • 15+ years of experience with experience in defining and implementing enterprise-grade distributed software applications and frameworks.

  • Experience leading multi-project teams, mentoring software engineers at all levels to deliver value to Oracle customers

  • Experience in hiring, developing a team of 10+ engineers, conducting appraisals and supplying to the budget planning

  • Hands-on experience in Java, J2EE applications and API development is required.

  • Exposure to mult-region infrastructure cloud like AWS, Azzure, OCI is desired.

  • Hands on experience in building REST APIs using Springboot/Hibernate frameworks.

  • Expertise in developing docker containers deploy-able in Kubernetes is a must.

  • In-depth understanding of Spring, Spring Boot, Micronaut, Kubernetes, Dockers, Virtual Machines, Oracle DB, etc, their configuration and tuning is highly desired.

  • Strong High-level and Low-level Design skills for building software systems.

  • Solid understanding of Software Creation Process, Test Driven Development, Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery

Experience with Performance Engineering at different levels.

  • Full SDLC life-cycle experience (release of new features, patching, upgrading, maintenance etc.)

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills. Proven track record to learn and rapidly adapt to new challenges.

  • Quick learner, ability to multitask, prioritize and solve complex engineering problems and provide solutions

  • Up-to-date on the latest industry trends; able to articulate trends and potential clearly and confidently

As a member of the software engineering division, you will take an active role in the definition and evolution of standard practices and procedures.

You will be responsible for defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, designing and debugging of software applications or operating systems.

Work is non-routine and very sophisticated, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization.
