Walmart Senior Director, Software Engineering in Bentonville, Arkansas

What you'll do...

About Team:

On the Item and Inventory team, we ensure our customers get their orders when and where they want them, in a frictionless, predictable manner. What's more, we create reusable SaaS products and services that manage our catalog and power end-to-end inventory management, including replenishment, fulfillment, and transportation. With end-to-end inventory management, from replenishment and fulfillment to transportation, we give our drivers and partners the tools they need to get the right items to customers on time and in the right packaging.

What you'll do:

As Sr Director of Engineering for Replenishment you will be managing a global team of engineers in US and India. The role entails the following responsibilities:

  • Own, influence, and execution of product roadmaps for key Growth areas.

  • Work with a team of Architects and Tech Leads to define, own and implement the technology strategy for providing deep insights, recommendations to drive growth

  • Manage the engineering organization through other directors and senior engineering managers.

  • Hire talent, mentor and grow the team

  • Drive e2e solutions across the supply chain

  • Drive and measure operational and engineering excellence across the organization

  • Partner with other functional leaders to build and accelerate roadmap

  • Proactively monitor, identify, and resolve customer issues.

What you'll bring:

Experience in Data, developing Platforms (frontend and backend) and distributed systems.

• Strong senior level engineering leadership expertise in medium to large size company.

• Proven experience in hiring and mentoring world-class engineering teams

• Leading large-scale systems in fast-paced environments, startup experience is a plus

• Expertise in multiple distributed technologies (e.g. Spark/Storm, Kafka, Microservices. Etc)

• Experience in one or more public cloud technologies like GCP, Azure, etc.

• Experience in working in large teams using CI/CD and agile methodologies.

• Excellent communication skills.

• BS or MS degree in Computer Science or a related technical field and 15+ years of industry experience.

The annual salary range for this position is $160,000.00-$320,000.00

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.

Additional compensation for certain positions may also include:

Minimum Qualifications...

Option 1: Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, or related area and7 years' experience in software engineering or related area.

Option 2: 9 years' experience in software engineering or related area.

4 years' supervisory experience.
