About the Global Ethics and Compliance Organization :

The Global Governance Tech organization is standing up a new team to develop Global Ethics and Compliance solutions for customers across 14 business initiatives that impacts the end-to-end supply chain. Our teams are agile and cloud native. We learn from each other every day. We have a startup culture and are looking to grow our team with software engineers who take pride in their craft and are ready to grow in a fast-paced team-oriented environment. We not only create affordability, but we also deliver customized experiences for customers across all channels - in-store, mobile app, and websites.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide technical leadership and use engineering best practices to initiate, plan, and execute large-scale, cross functional, and company-wide projects.

  • Demonstrate craftsmanship and produce high quality software that is unit tested, code reviewed, and checked in regularly for continuous integration.

  • Investigate and build proof-of-concept prototypes utilizing new technologies and drive their adoption within the mainstream product.

  • Work with Walmart's Web Platform community to drive improvement to the overall foundation on which Walmart.com stands.

  • Identify, leverage, and successfully evangelize opportunities to improve engineering productivity, product quality and efficiency.

  • Generate technical documentation and presentations to communicate architectural and design options, and educate development, product and business teams.

  • Manage and maintain multiple production and non-production environments, ensuring that these environments are setup with the standard automated build and releases processes & deliver with quality, reliability.

  • Build, leverage and analyze tools, application logs, and analytics data to determine improvements to the product and engineering services.

  • Monitor the health of web pages, work cross-functionally with partner teams such as Site Ops, Network, Storage, Systems, Monitoring & Application team.

  • Set high standards for operational excellence and system observability.

What You'll Bring:

  • Experience providing technical and architectural guidance and help develop cost optimization strategies by deploying the right architecture and pricing models.

  • Full stack development experience with Spring boot Java, React and micro services architecture experience.

  • Experience building long term strategy of building integrated packageable platforms (PaaS) scalable to Walmart global needs, complexity, and scale.

  • Create and capture best practices, technical content and new reference architectures (e.g., white papers, code samples, blog posts).

  • Develop areas of depth in technical domains relevant to your interests and your customer's outcomes.

  • Provide guidance and drive engineering excellence covering site reliability, alerts & monitoring, product health and portability.

Live Better U is a Walmart-paid education benefit program for full-time and part-time associates in Walmart and Sam's Club facilities. The annual salary range for this position is $110,000.00-$220,000.00

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
