The Boeing Company is currently seeking a Senior Systems Engineer for Air Dominance supporting and the F/A-18 and other Air Dominance Platforms located in Berkeley, MO.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing systems engineering leadership throughout the life cycle of these various Air Dominance programs. The supported programs are in different program life cycle stages (development, production, and sustainment). The position requires the ability to closely coordinate with the domestic and foreign customers, engineering leadership, and various engineering teams throughout different stages of the product life cycle.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support systems engineering efforts in defining requirements and capabilities and leading integration

  • Applies an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to lead activities to plan, design, develop and verify complex lifecycle balanced system of systems and system solutions

  • Leads others to evaluate customer/operational needs to define system performance requirements, integrate technical parameters, and assure compatibility of all physical, functional and program interfaces

  • Leads analyses to optimize total system of systems and/or system architecture

  • Leverage Model Based Systems Engineering methods and tools to perform and apply systems engineering methods

  • Leads, develops, maintains, and identifies improvements the planning, organization, implementation and monitoring of requirements management processes, tools, RIO (Risk/Issues/Opportunity) management, and technology readiness assessment process

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Shift 1 (United States of America)

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship.

An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.

  • 5+ years of experience in system design, functional decomposition, requirements development, analysis, verification, and validation

  • Experience in new technology or product/capability development

  • Experience in an engineering leadership role

  • Experience with risk identification and mitigation plans

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Effectively communicate with technical and non-technical audiences

  • 10 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Education/experience in 1 or more of the following: Cameo, Rhapsody, DOORS, SysML, Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF), MagicGrid

  • Experience with the F/A-18 and/or EA-18 platform

  • Ability to provide training/mentoring to early career engineers

  • Experience working in a diverse Integrated Product Team (IPT)

  • Strong oral and written communications skills

Typical Education/Experience:

Level 5: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 14 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+9 years' related work experience, Master+12 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard

Level 6: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 20 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+15 years' related work experience, Master+18 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary pay range:

Level 5: $147,050 - $198,950

Level 6: $174,250 – 235,750
