JOB REQUIREMENTS: Properly and safely loads and unloads castings and raw materials in and out of machine using a lifting device such as an overhead hoist or by hand depending on part size and weight. Responsible for meeting standard production timeframes established for setup and cycle times. Responsible for minor machine offsets and tool changes. Performs some follow-up operations, such as deburring, polishing, grinding and prepping the part for shipping. This may include sending the part through the wash tank. Uses gauges and measuring instruments to meet tolerance requirements. Occasional use of manual or electric pallet jack. Documents QA inspections. Performs other manufacturing duties as assigned or required. ***** OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Ability to read, write, comprehend and follow verbal and written instructions in English. Ability to perform basic math calculations. Ability to read blueprints and measure parts using gauges and micrometers a plus. Physical Demands: Machine shop working environment; dust, grease and metal shavings common. Standing and walking required for 90% of work time. Continuous pushing, pulling and twisting. Ability to lift up to 10 pounds continuously and up to 30 pounds frequently. Frequent bending, stooping, fine manipulation of hand tools and going up/down steps. Overtime will be required during peak business periods and to meet business needs. Work Environment: Works indoors in warehouse settings, which are often cooler or hotter than traditional offices.
