Location: MacNeal Hospital, Berwyn IL
The role you will contribute to:
- Chronic Diagnosis/Intensive Treatment Unit:
o Nurses on these units work as a team to create structure in order to help the sickest patients in their moments of need. This unit provides ample opportunity to strengthen de-escalation skills and provides a robust understanding of precipitating factors for mental illness and the effects of institutionalization.
- Geriatric Unit
o Nurses on this unit have a desire to mix clinical skill and behavioral interventions will provide care for behavioral health patients with depressive disorders, bipolar or schizophrenia in conjunction with aging and/or multiple other comorbidities.
General Inpatient Psychiatric Units:
o Nurses on these units will implement evidence based practice and provide trauma informed care in a supportive environment to help individuals struggling with major depressive disorder, anxiety, alcohol or substance detoxification, and postpartum depression
The value you will bring to our team:
Performs initial and on-going bio-psychosocial assessments according to accepted standards of nursing practice. Develops a nursing plan of care consistent with the maser treatment plan.
Participates in treatment team conferences to assist in planning and revising goals, objectives, and interventions appropriate to the age-related and problem-specific needs of each patient.
Implements nursing plan of care for assigned patients and conducts and/or co-leads group therapy sessions for patients.
