Manager Imaging Informatics

Position Summary:

Reports to the Director of Radiology. The Imaging Informatics manager is responsible for operational, technical, fiscal and human resources aspects of the radiology and cardiology Picture Archiving and Communications Systems (PACS), voice recognition, interface engine, imaging archive and other radiology and cardiology system operations. This individual will lead imaging informatics initiatives within radiology, cardiology and other departments as necessary.

Serves as the key technical resource for all supported applications, managing a team of four analysts providing 24/7/365 support.

Expected to work when required for upgrades and downtimes. Assists with modality integration, related information systems integration, system upgrades, and other Imaging Informatics initiatives. Reviews vendor contracts and manages department budget. Supports multiple sites and provides remote support of radiologist at-home reading stations. Works closely with imaging section supervisors, radiologists, cardiologists, and other clinical supervisors and physician groups to assess application workflow within the clinical environment and identify opportunities for improvement. Demonstrates initiative and ensures timely follow through on all work assignments. Maintains and ensures hospital safety guidelines are followed.

Education/Experience:

Experienced in information technology, information systems, or imaging informatics with minimum five years’ managerial experience. Strong understanding of radiology and cardiology workflows required . Skilled in interpersonal abilities, written and verbal communications, and applications training. Solid operational understanding of operating systems, software applications, and web browsers. A degree in related field and/ or 5+ years imaging technologist experience in multiple modalities or commensurate experience preferred.

Knowledge of DICOM, HL7, Merge PACS, Philips ISCV and Epic preferred.

Ability to work independently and as a team player required. Position includes on call.
