A Day in the Life

Medtronic is looking for a passionate, experienced, and self-starter Hardware Test Technician for our Billerica, MA., facility to support Affera’s cardiac ablation generator product manufacturing. As a hardware test technician, you will have responsibility for performing manufacturing functional and safety testing for the cardiac ablation product. You will support improvements in manufacturing quality, capacity, and stability through solving problems, developing solutions, and executing strategies.

Positions open on 3 shifts:

  • 1st shift: 6:00 am - 2:30 pm, Monday through Friday

  • 2nd shift: 2:00 pm - 10:30 pm, Monday through Friday

  • 3rd shift: 10:00 pm - 6:30 am, Monday through Friday

Initial training period (about 6 weeks) will be scheduled during 1st shift.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

  • Construct, troubleshoot, calibrate, adjust, test, diagnose, and maintain equipment, components, devices, or systems.

  • Work from schematics, engineering drawings and written or verbal instructions.

  • Operate related equipment, conduct tests and report data in prescribed format.

  • Adjusts and calibrates systems as needed.

  • Modifies equipment by adding, removing, or altering components as defined by predetermined diagrams and sketches.

  • Participates and leads investigation for process and product non conformances

  • Uses various measuring and testing devices in performing job duties.

  • May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures.

  • Responsible for the implementation of activities in production area(s) to meet production goals, quality, and cost objectives.

  • Experience handling multiple tasks concurrently

  • Good communication skills (both written and interpersonal).Ability to work well in a collaborative team environment to achieve results

  • Excellent data analysis skills

  • Ensures processes and procedures follow regulations

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

· Level II

  • Requires basic job knowledge of systems, techniques and procedures obtained through prior work experience or education.

  • Requires minimum of 2 years of relevant experience; may require vocational or technical education or certification in addition to prior work experience.

  • Level III

  • Requires complete and broad knowledge of operational systems, techniques and practices typically gained through extensive experience and/or education.

  • Requires minimum of 4 years of relevant experience; may require vocational or technical education or certification in addition to prior work experience.

Nice to Have

  • Relevant experience in the medical device, pharmaceutical or highly regulated industry.

  • Experience in medical device production or manufacturing environment

  • IPC A 610 experience– Soldering Certification / Acceptability of Electronics Assemblies

  • IPC A 620 experience – Requirements and Acceptance for Cable/Wire Harness Assemblies

  • Operate and maintain test and inspection equipment, including:

  • Ohmmeters, multimeters, and electrical continuity testers

  • Oscilloscope & Hi Pot testers

  • Must be proficient in all MS Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint

  • Strong communication skills

  • A roll up your sleeves and jump in where help is needed mentality

  • Ability to lift 40lbs.

The provided base salary range is used nationally in the United States (except in Puerto Rico and certain CA locations). The rate offered is compliant with federal/local regulations and may vary by experience, certification/education, market conditions, location, etc.
