Chris Preble from Robert Half is working with a manufacturing industry client of his to find their next Plant Controller. This organization provides a lot of growth and is in a very stable shape financially. You'll work close with ownership and manage a team. There's a lot of expansion happening so it's not an in the weeds, debits and credits all day type of job.

Responsibilities:

Financial Planning and Analysis:

• Help develop and maintain financial models to support budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning.

• Analyze financial performance against key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide insights to management for decision-making.

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for stakeholders.

Cost Management:

• Monitor manufacturing costs and identify opportunities for cost optimization.

• Partner with operations and procurement teams to analyze variances and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

• Establish and maintain standard costs for products and analyze actual costs against standards.

Budgeting and Forecasting:

• Lead the annual budgeting process for the plant, working closely with department managers to develop accurate forecasts.

• Provide timely updates and variance analysis to ensure budget compliance and drive accountability.

Financial Compliance:

• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements.

• Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard assets and mitigate financial risks.

• Work with external accounting firm when required

Inventory Management:

• Oversee inventory accounting and reconciliation processes.

• Analyze inventory levels, aging, and obsolescence to optimize working capital.

Team Leadership:

• Manage a team of professionals, providing guidance, coaching, and performance feedback.

  Requirements

• Experience in the manufacturing industry

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related

• CPA or MBA is an asset
