About the role

We are recruiting for a Sales Representative to work in a field-based role covering both the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland. You will work within the BD Peripheral Intervention division and engage with Consultants and their peers in hospital theatres and radiology departments. You will focus on the BD range of stents, PTA balloons and catheters, as well as novel new products.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing a thorough understanding of peripheral interventional procedures in conjunction with BD’s products and their indications across Interventional Radiologists, Vascular Surgeons, Nephrologists, vascular nurses and other specialties in Ireland.

In this role there is opportunity to travel to UK and Europe for training and you can expect to stay overnight on territory on average 3 to 5 days per Month as required.

Main responsibilities will include:

  • Drive the adoption of new innovative technologies while engaging with both internal and external stakeholders.

  • Use your effective territory and time management skills to efficiently manage administrative and customer facing responsibilities, including customer facing presentations.

  • Able to demonstrate an enthusiasm and successful track record in medical device sales which will include the implementation of new product lines and the ability to drive the sales process

  • Able to prioritise and manage accounts at varying stages of development, including the ability to drive for new business whilst maintaining excellent customer relations within established accounts

  • Understand stakeholders requirements and be able to analyse requirements and develop strategies that drives adoption of technologies and become a trusted business advisor providing solutions

  • Effectively utilise the company’s selling tools and CRM system

  • Identify and help in the development of key opinion leaders and product champions

  • Ability to bring multiple stakeholders together

  • Exhibit excellent listening and communication skills

  • Able to demonstrate effective negotiation, presentation and account management skills

  • Experience in tender preparation and presentations

About you

  • Minimum of 3 years medical device sales in a theatre/cardiology/radiology environment are essential

  • Proven successful sales and account management experience

  • Strong negotiation skills with procurement and budget holders

  • Experience in navigating a complex selling environment

  • Good understanding of the HSE and Private Hospitals in Ireland

  • Strong product demonstration experience in a complex sales environment involving multiple decision makers/influencers

  • Ability to analyse complex customer data and develop and communicate clinically and technically sound sales solutions

  • Ability to interface with both internal team members and external customers as part of a solutions-based sales approach

  • Proven customer acumen and relationship building skills

  • Excellent interpersonal, teaching and presentation skills

  • Strong written and verbal communication and clear thinking skills with the ability to synthesize complex issues into simples messages

  • Able to work individually and as part of a remote team
