HMT Tank Field Superintendent in Blackwell, Oklahoma

HMT is looking for a Field Superintendent who is responsible for ensuring that jobs in the field are performed efficiently, safely, and in a quality manner. The Field Superintendent is the primary contact for Field Foreman and will direct the Field Foreman as needed regarding site related activities. The Field Superintendent will work with the Operations Managers and the Project Managers to achieve these goals.

Essential Function

  • Ensure that jobs are being executed in an efficient manner and that the Field Foreman has all the resources needed to achieve the goal of completing the job on time and under budget.

  • Ensure / Audit Field Progress Reports to ensure accuracy

  • Certified to run and able to train employees on typical equipment found on large jobs. This would include lull, skid steer loaders, aerial equipment such as man lifts, Boom lifts, etc.

  • Qualified to operate a 35-ton crane is a plus

Responsibilities include:

  • Communicate any problems with fieldwork to the Operations Manager and Project Managers and assist in resolving those problems.

  • Communicate with the Operations Manager & Project Manager regarding job schedules and performance issues that may arise.

  • Ensure that all HMT safety policies and procedures are being followed.

  • Assist with the maintenance of HMT owned equipment as needed. Communicate with the Lead Superintendent regarding equipment problems.

  • Assist the Project Manager in identifying scope of work changes.

  • Coordinate communication among your team members, the customer, and subcontractors as needed.

  • Attending job walks and bid meetings as needed to assist the Project Managers in determining the site conditions and developing the scope of work for customer quotations.

  • Ensure that all QA/QC policies and procedures are being followed.

  • Assist with the training of employees as needed

  • Responsible for the training of crew members in tank building. Superintendents are expected to train prospective employees to become Field Foreman.

  • Assume the site related project duties of Field Foreman when they are scheduled for vacation or take personal time away from the job.

  • Work closely with all the team to promote a positive working environment.

  • Any other task or duty as assigned or required.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • 5+ years' experience in the AST (Above Ground Storage Tank industry), Minimum 5 years' experience in API 650/653 repair and maintenance.

  • 5+ years of Supervisory experience in construction and/or industrial environments

  • Must be able to weld in all positions with SMAW, FCAW, and SAW

  • Detail-oriented, Excellent organizational skills

  • Ability to complete all required paperwork associated with safety and QA/QC without assistance.

  • Ability to interpret field and fabrication drawings.

  • Must be DOT OQ qualified.

  • Must have a 3-year clean driver record

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and handle a broad scope of responsibility.

  • Thorough understanding of construction scheduling and cost control; comprehensive knowledge of company policies, procedures, and standards; Sound communication, organizational, supervisory, and planning skills;

  • Ability to handle multiple jobs concurrently.

  • Maintain accurate Field Progress Reports.

  • Able to give clear and concise instructions to multiple employees in the execution of work.

  • Must have experience managing multiple crews/ job sites.

  • Must be willing to travel for long periods of time

The employee may be required to lift and/or move objects of up to 50 pounds. Hearing and seeing ability of rapid mental coordination. It is required to be mentally alert for the entirety of shift.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This position may work in various locations within the U.S. Some locations may be subject to extreme temperatures, working in high places, etc. Potential for exposure to temperature changes, wetness, confined spaces, fumes/odors, working with ladder/scaffolds, working with pressurized equipment, high places, hazardous materials, and working alone. HMT will supply adequate training and equipment to meet the functions of the job.
