Overview The successful candidate will perform administrative assistant duties and work with students, faculty, and staff on the Blanding Campus. This is a full-time position with the Native American Serving Non-Tribal Institutions (NASNTI) grant.

Responsibilities

  • Work with the grant management team and Director to achieve grant objectives, support academic programs, and execute summer programs.
  • Database management in Banner, Excel, and other software programs as required for grant management.
  • Track academic progress of Native American students, provide liaison communication between students and faculty and tutoring programs.
  • Monitor project budget including necessary paperwork required by the institution and/or project; monthly stipend requests, travel forms, travel requests, Microsoft Excel spreadsheets, etc.
  • Assist with collecting, compiling, and analyzing data for evaluation and completing summative evaluation reports for Annual Performance Report (APR).
  • Able to work evening hours as required.

Qualifications Minimum Qualifications:

  • An Associate's Degree/Certification OR a minimum of 2 years related work experience.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task.
  • Detail-oriented aptitude; high degree of accuracy is required.
  • Strong English verbal and written communication skills,
  • Able to travel to outreach sites; valid drivers license to perform essential job responsibilities, such as driving university vehicles and transporting materials. Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with Native American students and Native American communities.

  • Experience with Banner, and Financial Records.
  • Experience with Federal Grants.
  • Navajo language proficiency is a plus. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to keep routine financial records and to prepare routine financial reports.

  • Excellent data management and analytical skills.
  • Strong computer skills, proficient in MS Word and MS Excel and capacity to create and maintain budgeting spreadsheets.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and team-oriented skills.
