The Comprehensive Center for Brain Health, Department of Neurology, University of Miami Miller School of Medicine located in Boca Raton, Florida is initiating a search for an Assistant Professor of Neurology in the Cognitive Division.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Strong clinical and research background in the areas of clinical-translational research in Cognitive/Memory Disorders Diseases

  • Clinical care of patients at the Comprehensive Center for Brain Health Clinic (Boca Medical Plaza). Two (2) half-day sessions of outpatient clinics in cognitive neurology are required.

  • No General Neurology clinical activity is required.

  • No Inpatient service is required.

  • Obtain data and results to prepare research grant applications to NIH and foundations

  • Heavy emphasis placed on the design and implementation of independent research protocols

  • Effort is 80% research and 20% clinical with a non-tenured full-time faculty appointment

  • Performing clinical-cognitive-functional-behavioral assessments, analyze fluid, genetic and imaging biomarkers, test novel pharmacologic, non-pharmacologic and integrative interventions to investigate the diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of neurodegenerative diseases

  • Clinical experience involves integration into our transdisciplinary collaborative care approach to the diagnosis and management of older adults with various neurodegenerative disorders

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Requires an MD degree from a recognized accredited University (or foreign equivalent)

  • Cognitive/Memory disorders fellowship preferred

  • Board certification in Neurology strongly recommended

  • Eligible for Florida Medical License
