Summary:

The Senior Staff Accountant is responsible for managing and overseeing advanced accounting tasks, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data, and providing guidance and support to junior accounting staff. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • General Ledger Management: Oversee and manage general ledger activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close processes.

  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.

  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts, ensuring alignment with business goals and objectives.

  • Audit Support: Coordinate and support internal and external audits, including the preparation of audit schedules and providing necessary documentation.

  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards (GAAP), and regulatory requirements.

  • Tax Preparation: Assist in the preparation and filing of tax returns and other regulatory reports.

  • Accounts Reconciliation: Perform detailed account reconciliations, identify discrepancies, and resolve issues in a timely manner.

  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in accounting operations.

  • Team Leadership: Provide guidance, training, and support to junior accounting staff, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.

  • Special Projects: Participate in and manage special accounting projects as assigned by management.

    Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., CPA) is preferred.

  • Experience: Minimum of 4-6 years of experience in accounting or a related role, with demonstrated experience in advanced accounting tasks.

  • Skills:

  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

  • Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of GAAP and advanced accounting principles and practices.
