We seek high-energy, knowledgeable individuals with strong competence in the sciences passionate about film deposition and characterization to join us. We hire highly motivated, adventurous, and passionately focused individuals capable of solving complex problems as a member of a team or individually. As a Thin Film Process Development Intern at Micron, you will answer fundamental questions, achieve new goals and discover interactions for a multifaceted project in process development while optimizing a variety of factors in the process. Your contribution will drive improvement in schedule, quality and team accomplishment.

Responsibilities:

We highly value our interns and make the experience memorable. As an intern, you will plan, set up, implement experiments then interpret data and provide guidance based on your data. You will be learning and using groundbreaking industrial semiconductor deposition platforms from leading vendors while collaborating with other process and equipment areas. At the end of your term, you will provide a detailed presentation of your work to the other members of the group. This internship position is available starting May 2024 for a duration of 3-4 months.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Shown knowledge of chemical kinetics and their direct application to CVD and ALD deposition processes in various deposition reactors.

  • A working proficiency of different types of thin film analysis techniques such as SIMS, XPS, EDS, AFM, SEM, TEM, XRR, FTIR, RBS.

  • Analytical and informative inferences from data sources, such as electrical and physical analysis.

  • Collaborating with a wide variety of people in different areas of process R&D and pilot production to optimally accomplish tasks in a timely manner.

  • Strategic in planning and driving effective, well-designed experiments and writing clear, concise reports documenting the results.

  • The ability to give and take constructive feedback from other team members and to receive and demonstrate mentoring to drive projects forward.

  • Taking a leading role in the project.

Education and Experience:

  • Graduating with a Ph.D. in Material Science, Chemical Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, or related fields in 2025 or 2026

Must be a current student, must not graduate before September 2024.
