74462BRJob Posting Title:Clinical Research Manager IDepartment:CardiologyAutoReqId:74462BRStatus:Full-TimeStandard Hours per Week:40 Job Posting Category:ResearchJob Posting Description:The Congenital Cardiac Catheterization Project on Outcomes (C3PO) within the Benderson Family Heart Center at Boston Children's Hospital is seeking a full time Clinical Research Manager I (CRM) to oversee daily registry and research operations.

C3PO is a dynamic, ongoing, multi-center registry that began prospectively collecting data in 2007. The C3PO collaborative is dedicated to fostering a data-driven, multi-center quality improvement infrastructure, empowering its members to enhance patient safety, establish novel metrics, and disseminate findings throughout the congenital cardiac catheterization field. C3PO has led the field in ground-breaking quality improvement initiatives within congenital cardiac catheterization, aiming to enhance safety and patient outcomes while evaluating measures of procedural effectiveness and resource allocation, as well as strategies for risk mitigation.

The collaborative has experienced substantial growth in recent years, reaching 30 active centers in 2024, with over 85,000 patients included in the registry. Alongside this expansion, C3PO actively engages in numerous academic initiatives, achieving significant academic success with 40 publications and 15 ongoing research projects that exemplify a dedication to scholarly excellence.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develops and oversees the implementation of best practice guidelines for maintaining quality improvement (QI) and research infrastructure, including: data management and data quality procedures; protocol development; staff education and training; regulatory compliance; and analysis file creation, statistical analyses, and report generation.

  • Collaborates with PI's and study stakeholders for management of registry, registry studies, and registry products.

  • Manages communication between study staff and internal and external stakeholders.

  • Collaborates with Principal Investigator and other scientific staff on developing and writing grants and research protocols.

  • Hires, trains, and manages registry research staff and conducts Performance Management process.

  • Develops and oversees program-specific on-boarding and ensures all staff complete required hospital training.

  • Prepares and monitors registry budget, maintains financial records of participating sites, and ensures compliance with hospital and governmental regulations.

  • Organizes and facilitates internal team meetings and external stakeholder meetings.

  • Ensures all work is performed in conformance with established program, hospital, state, and federal policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and 6 years of research and/or clinical experience.

  • Master’s degree in Public Health, Healthcare Management or a closely related field and 4 years of relevant experience is preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Able to perform day-to-day responsibilities independently, supervise and train staff effectively, and possess aptitude for budget management.

  • Strong interpersonal communication and effective problem-solving skills are required to effectively deal with conflicting views or issues and to mediate fair solutions.

  • Knowledge of basic QI tools and control charts preferred.

  • Able to use a variety of improvement and redesign tools and techniques such as process mapping, root cause analysis, design and prototyping, rapid cycle testing and change management.

  • The analytical skills to resolve complex problems requiring the use of scientific, mathematical, or technical principles and in‑depth, experienced‑based knowledge.

  • Advanced writing skills

  • Computer skills including the use of the Microsoft Office Suite and working knowledge of EPIC and EDC applications.

  • Demonstrated interest and proficiency in data visualization software, such as Tableau or similar platforms, or a willingness to learn.
