Boston University PROJECT COORDINATOR, School of Public Health, Epidemiology in BOSTON, Massachusetts

The Department of Epidemiology is seeking a Project Coordinator to oversee the implementation and pursuit of NIH grants related to data-intensive aging research. The candidate will have interest in issues surrounding aging, especially Alzheimer's and dementia risk as well as the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, utilize time and resources efficiently, and establish priorities. They will lead regular study team meetings, document study progress and milestones, and represent the study to internal and external staff. They will also assist with a myriad of activities in the Department, including highlighting selected scientific findings, assisting with organizing events such as paper sprints or hackathons, web site maintenance, and development and support of educational initiatives.

Primary responsibilities will include:

  • Develop and oversee study protocols, IRBs, and data use agreements related to multiple NIH grants. Oversee IRB submission, manage progress reports, and coordinate to ensure data storage is consistent with the data use agreement requirements.

  • Prepare funder status reports and draft manuscripts. Work on progress and final reports to the NIH, contribute to writing grant renewals, and manuscript writing for some analyses. Will support preparation and submission of manuscripts.

  • Support new grant submissions related to aging, including Rs, Ps, and Ts, including assembling information and supporting public-facing activities about the training and research activities in the department.

  • Analytic work to support research manuscripts, with coding in SAS or Stata.

  • Administrative support for scientific and educational initiatives in the department, e.g., assisting with preparation of course or program proposals or grant proposals, scheduling planning meetings, identifying appropriate teaching materials.

Required Skills

  • Bachelors degree in a related discipline is required.

  • Masters degree (or in progress of) is preferred.

  • 1-3 years of experience.

  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Demonstrated experience working in a high volume, deadline-oriented customer-focused environment.

  • Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • This is an in-person/on-premises role with occasional opportunity for remote work.
