What We Need:

The Corporate Strategy team within Strategy, Consulting, Innovation & Analytics (SCIA) Division exists to define and facilitate the strategic planning process; develop, articulate, and adapt the company’s strategic plan; and support critical strategic initiatives in their formation of recommendations and implementation plans, working closely with leaders and subject matter experts from across the business. We support this work with competitive intelligence and market trend insights, and track our progress to inform and facilitate ongoing prioritization of efforts across the organization. The Strategy Consultant will work collaboratively and cross-functionally across the SCIA division and beyond. The successful candidate should deliver a broad skillset: an ability to quickly ramp-up and engage on new strategy topics, ability to develop strategic concepts leveraging existing and new frameworks and tools; ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with business partners in strategy development; and ability to drive strategic and quantitative analyses.

Your Day to Day:

  • Lead tasks and collaborate with Strategy team members in scoping, planning and execution of strategy efforts.

  • Drive problem development, work planning, and recommendation summaries.

  • Conduct quantitative analysis both externally (e.g., industry trends, business case development and ROIs, demand views, etc.) as well as internally to inform structured recommendations for select strategic initiatives.

  • Lead and facilitate work groups of leaders across the organization to gain input and form strategic recommendations.

  • Conduct qualitative analysis both externally (market developments, employer demands, consumer trends and technology, etc.) and internally (understanding BCBSMA position, prior decisions made, feasibility dynamics, etc.) to inform structured scenarios for select strategic initiatives.

  • Keep abreast of changes in the industry and field, proactively identifying and assessing strategic business issues, needs and opportunities for BCBSMA to meet strategic and corporate goals.

  • Design, develop, and assess financial implications of solutions for strategic issues through quantitative and financial modeling (e.g., cost/benefit, ROI, etc.). Develop scenario views of the market and BCBSMA position.

  • Collaborate with business and managers around the business planning process, driving additional efficiency and transparency, updating planning materials and templates, and forming relationships to support required stakeholder communications.

  • Propose and create mechanisms to measure effectiveness of strategic initiatives.

We’re Looking for:

  • Ability to develop and deliver presentations to a range of senior management and leadership audiences including strong communication skills (verbal, written), and the ability to develop frameworks and effective documents.

  • Strong problem-solving including the identification of business problems or needs, formulation of hypotheses or solution(s), resolution plan development, partnership to deliver solutions, and impact measurement.

  • Strong organizational, project and time management skills, including the ability to propose approaches, prioritize, and or manage multiple independent projects and assignments.

  • High standards of performance, attention to detail, and commitment to excellence.

  • Ability to act as a team player and thought partner with colleagues collaboratively at all levels of the organization.

  • Strong technical skills in documentation and presentation development PC and research skills (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint) including ability to titrate messages: summarize essentials and go deep as needed.

  • Strong Data analysis and data visualization skills (e.g., Excel, Tableau). Additional data query and/or tool skills a plus (e.g., SQL).

  • Strong research skills leveraging a variety of internal, public, and paid data sources (e.g., Factiva or similar).

What You Bring:

  • BS/BA degree required. Master’s Degree in Business Administration, or other relevant advanced degree, preferred.

  • Minimum five years of relevant business experience, including demonstrated experience in consulting, research and analysis, or other relevant field.

  • Experience in health care (focus on payers, providers) preferred. Passion for health care industry a must.

Salary Range: $96,660.00 - $118,140.00

The job posting range is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, and business or organizational needs and affordability.

This job is also eligible for variable pay.
