Nucor Steel Kankakee is seeking a strong candidate for the position of Process Engineer in the Rolling Mill. The candidate in this role will actively assist the team with process and product development, troubleshooting upset conditions, using statistical methods and data to help guide decision making, leading safety, costs, quality & efficiency improvement efforts, and working closely with operations, maintenance and IT teams to ensure optimal roll mill performance. The successful candidate will also be responsible for developing and leading process specific training to expand the technical steelmaking knowledge of our team. In addition, this position will be involved in leading the justification, installation, and commissioning of capital projects.
Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum 5+ years previous Rolling Mill experience
Minimum 3+ years previous experience in project management
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous supervisory experience
Bachelors degree (preferably in Engineering or Metallurgy)
Previous experience in capital projects and process optimization
Must have supervisor and manager recommendation and must be able to perform all essential fuctions of thejob with or without reasonable accomodation
