Position Details

General Statement

The Campus Civil Rights Case Manager coordinates certain activities related to the University’s response to protected-class discrimination, harassment, sexual misconduct, dating violence, domestic violence, stalking, and retaliation. The Case Manager will provide initial response to reports, coordinate supportive and protective measures, coordinate informal and formal resolution processes, assess and facilitate interim measures and remedies, and provide administrative and professional support for the CCR team. The Case Manager reports to the Deputy Title IX Coordinator of Intake and Case Management.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Interacts with students, faculty, managers, administrators, employees, and community members at all levels of the University.

  • Implements reasonable supportive and protective measures to remedy the impacts of protected-class discrimination and harassment.

  • Assists with supervision of student workers and volunteer.

  • Assists with the intake of reports, including initial outreach, file management, and scheduling.

  • Assists in facilitating interim remedies and sanctions.

  • Prepares and provides information about the complaint process to the parties involved in a civil rights process.

  • Assists in facilitating informal resolution, including coordinating documentation.

  • Manages and tracks specific resolution deadlines and provides status updates to relevant parties.

  • Collaborates with other campus and community offices as appropriate.

  • Collaborates with CCR staff to provide content for marketing, communication, education, and training.

  • Oversees management of case management software.

  • Related duties as required.

    Required Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills

  • Associates degree in relevant field or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.

  • Demonstrated experience working directly with people experiencing trauma, violence, and/or other types of highly sensitive issues.

  • Experience working independently in time-sensitive situations.

  • Experience working with confidential information.

    Preferred Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills

  • At least two years of experience in case management, social work, or crisis response.

  • Bachelor’s degree in education, social work, counseling, or related field.

  • Professional experience in higher education.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of federal and state equal opportunity laws and regulations.

  • Ability to multi-task and effectively manage multiple issues simultaneously.

  • Demonstrate the ability to maintain confidentiality.

  • Demonstrate the ability to exhibit empathy and sensitivity to a variety of difficult interpersonal situations.

  • Maintain a strong degree of independence while ensuring that the Deputy Title IX Coordinator and Managing Director are apprised of activities and progress on tasks.
