Amazon Payroll Analyst - Italy, Payroll in Bratislava, Slovakia

We are looking for a payroll professional who wants to be customer obsessed and take the payroll experience to another level to help build our rapidly growing company. Every day we are encouraged and driven to improve processes and look for better solutions on behalf of our internal customers.

Base pay for this position starts from EUR 1,680+ gross per month and salary depends on the skills and requirements, there will be further pay components such as a sign on bonus and the eligibility to participate in a restricted stock unit scheme operated independently by Amazon.com Inc. in USA. Company benefits apply subject to further terms, including annual membership in medical clinic, life insurance, retirement pension, meal voucher card, career development.

Key job responsibilities

• Performs regular daily operations leading to ensuring accurate and timely execution of Payroll within their scope. Perform reconciliations and controls in regular payroll process

• Assists internal customers and stakeholders and coordinate payroll activities. Manage employees’ payroll related queries (and escalations) and proactive communication on payroll legislative changes.

• Participates in continual review and update of country standard solution to identify and adapt to legal changes and incorporate into all design documents and other material to maintain country compliance.

• Deliver results on key performance areas for payroll metrics and issue management process.

• Project Management – is accountable for process improvement projects. Works as part of a wider project team.

Basic Qualifications

  • 1+ years of experience in Payroll processes & systems

  • English and Italian language proficiency

  • Controllership / statutory compliance knowledge (tax, labor code, social security, garnishments, pension, benefits, terminations, RSUs, expatriate payroll)

  • Ability to deal with ambiguity and competing objectives in a fast-paced environment

  • Strong analytical and statistical skills

  • Proficient in obtaining, organizing, and analyzing data to make fact-based decisions and drive - Root cause analysis

Preferred Qualifications

  • MS Office knowledge - especially advanced MS Access and MS Excel Office (VBA, macros)

  • Experience in leading projects

  • Team focused with particular ability to work across teams

  • Deep knowledge of personal income tax legislation, labor law (labor code), insurance, sickness processing, Italian pay calculation process
