Envista Holdings Corporation Senior Accountant (Hybrid- Brea, CA) in Brea, California

Job Description:

The Senior Accountant for Benefits Accounting is responsible for the accounting and reporting of the employee benefit and compensation programs. This includes accurately recording benefit expenses, assets, and liabilities and applying the principles of accounting to analyze financial information and prepare financial reports.

This person will be required to be in the office (Brea, CA) twice per week at a minimum.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Prepare monthly expenses for stock option and RSU accounting and assist with forecasting equity stock compensation.

  • Prepare basic and diluted share counts for EPS calculation.

  • Prepare Statement of Equity report.

  • Prepare monthly healthcare charges pushed out to the operating companies.

  • Coordinate 401(k) funding and distribution and perform monthly reconciliation.

  • Assist with 401(k) audit, Form 11-K filing, and completion of form 5500.

  • Manage intercompany loan database and related accounting activities.

  • Lead process improvement initiatives to gain efficiencies.

  • Assist with month-end close and ensure all close and financial reporting deadlines are met.

  • Analyze month end and quarter end accrual balances to determine appropriate reserves in accordance with GAAP and company policy.

  • Review journal entries.

  • Analyze financial statements to determine trends, estimates, and significant changes to summarize and interpret the current and projected financial position of the company.  Communicate these findings through written narratives and oral presentations to management.

  • Coordinate and manage balance sheet reviews and other worldwide compliance activities.

  • Assist with overall SOX compliance program for general accounting.

  • Assist with footnote support for SEC reporting for Form 10-Q and 10-K.

  • Prepare and/or review monthly account reconciliations for balance sheet accounts ensuring financial records are maintained in compliance with company policy.  Review, investigate, and resolve accounting errors, discrepancies, and reconciling items.

  • Make recommendations regarding the accounting of reserves, assets, liabilities, and expenditures.

  • Document accounting control procedures and modify it as necessary.

  • Submit recommendations for improving the company’s accounting processes.

  • Special projects and create ad-hoc reports and analysis as required.

Job Requirements:

REQUIRED:           

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or equivalent or 4+ years of Sr Accounting experience in lieu of education

  • 3+ years of Sr. Accountant experience

PREFERRED SKILLS:

  • This is a 'hybrid' role so candidate must reside within a commutable distance to Brea, CA

  • CPA preferred 

  • 2 or more years of Big 4 experience preferred

  • Experience working within a multinational company environment highly desired

  • Experience directly or indirectly leading others is preferred

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products (especially Excel).

  • Experience with ERP system (Oracle and HFM a plus).

  • Working knowledge of GAAP and SOX.

  • Detail oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and do what it takes to meet deadlines.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Target Market Salary Range:

Actual compensation packages take into account a wide range of factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to geographic location; skill sets; relevant education and certifications; depth of experience; performance; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed reasonable estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Envista, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The total compensation package for this position may also include an annual performance bonus, medical/dental/vision benefits, 401K match, and/or other applicable compensation plans.
