Lexicon Pharmaceuticals is currently recruiting for an agile, highly motivated Senior Director, Business Insights and Analytics. This role is hybrid and based in our Bridgewater NJ location.

The Senior Director, Business Insights and Analytics is responsible for leading, integrating and translating primary, secondary, managed markets, competitive and environmental insights into growth strategies for Lexicon. This position plays a leading role in advising senior management and cross functional product teams through the development and implementation of new and existing business strategies to support our current Heart Failure product and ensure a first in class launch of new products in 2025. This position reports to our Vice President, Business Planning and Operations.

Key Responsibilities include but will not be limited to:

  • Lead the Business Insights and Analytics function.
  • Providing strategic leadership, oversight and guidance to business plan forecasts through market research and analytics to support our brand strategies and launch plans. Effectively collaborate across Lexicon to ensure organizational commitment and alignment with key functions (such as: Marketing, Value and Access, Medical, and Sales) that are critical to the successful attainment of financial sales goals.
  • Partner with Sales, Marketing, and Value and Access Leadership to optimally align and deploy efforts and investments supported by analytics and other analysis.
  • Work closely with the Sales organization to continually monitor and analyze market and team performance data at a regional/territory level and provide recommendations that will accommodate changing market needs by position, coverage models, or team configurations to maximize sales productivity.
  • Support and orchestrate all executional capabilities from a process, systems data, and reporting requirements perspective to support execution of Lexicon's portfolio of products and future product launches.
  • Partner with Market Research to inform research efforts.
  • Partner across Lexicon to provide analytical input and inform strategic recommendations.
  • Building, managing, and ownership for the revenue and demand forecast to support meeting key business objectives.
  • Identify and manage relationships with key external vendors to support our commercial analytics needs.
  • Developing and implementing analytics policies and methods that are consistent with industry best practices.
  • Assess and identify new technologies and analytical methods to support executional efforts for existing and new products
  • Build and manage a high performing Business Insights and Analytics Team.
  • Therapeutic area experience in Heart Failure and/or Type One diabetes a plus

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree is required. Master's degree is preferred.
  • A minimum of 8-10 years pharmaceutical leadership experience, in a Commercial or Marketing Analytics function.
  • Expertise in a combination of market research, forecasting and analytics, sales analysis and marketing. Preferably on a product launch in a relevant therapeutic area.
  • Experience in designing and interpreting primary research and secondary data analysis.
  • Expertise in building and managing forecasts.
  • Expert level experience in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills as well as strong presentation skills.
  • Ability and desire to work in a collaborative environment.
  • Ability to directly lead a team and lead matrix partners through influence.
