Position Summary:

Intern provides first-level hardware and software support for Adams County Sheriff's computer infrastructure. Responds to technical support inquiries via a ticketing system, in-person, via telephone, or email.

Note: This is a part-time, temporary internship position (20 hours per week).

Examples of Duties for Success

• Filter Help Desk calls and provide basic support and troubleshooting of a variety of issues (e.g., password resets, printer configurations, break/fix instructions, ticket routing, ticket escalation).

• Identify and escalate situations requiring urgent attention.

• Troubleshoot and resolve desktop, software, peripheral, and clinical application issues.

• Gather and analyze information regarding technical issues to determine the be resolution for end user.

• Troubleshoot and resolve mobile computing and communications device issues, e.g.

• Follow up and communicate ticket information to users when appropriate.

• Work with project team leads who will assign tasks and provide direction.

• Record information into ticket tracking software.

• May resolve more advanced issues where solutions have already been documented.

• Perform other related duties and responsibilities as required

• smartphones and tablets.

Qualifications for Success

• Working knowledge of computer software, hardware and related equipment.

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating systems and the Microsoft Office suite of products (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).

• General knowledge of enterprise network applications (such as case management and document management systems) preferred.

Employees in this benefit class are eligible based on the number of hours worked and the duration of employment.

Employees who work within the parameters below are eligible to participate in the 457b deferred compensation plan:

  • Lactation friendly certified workplace

  • Weekly Hours - 29 or less hours

  • Break in Service Requirement - 13 weeks
