The Autonomy Technology Strategist is responsible for developing, maintaining, and communicating product strategies for fleet, safety, and site management offboard systems that interface with onboard equipment electronics to improve construction and mining customers’ ability to manage, plan, and optimize their site operations. Collaborate with internal partners, including commercial and engineering teams, to align emerging technologies and industry trends with product roadmaps to meet the current and future needs of customers. Drive organizational alignment, funding, and priorities in a dynamic environment with continuously evolving business and customer needs to ensure execution of the product roadmaps. What You Will Do:

  • Communicating product vision to a large and diverse organization with different skillsets, cultures, and geographic locations to align and motivate toward a common objective.

  • Working with commercial teams, business partners, and customers to understand product needs and define appropriate technology product solutions.

  • Collaborating with machine product partners, internal partners, and other parties to communicate the technology needs and strategy as well as gain alignment to product roadmaps.

  • Applying good business acumen to defining multi-generational product plans (MGPPs) that align with customer needs, focusing on the appropriate market opportunities and addressing competitive threats within business constraints.

  • Leading project initiation by defining high-level program scope, schedule, cost, and requirements and working with delivery teams to structure and establish project teams.

  • Requires knowledge of cloud computing, systems architecture, data science, and analytics. Requires knowledge of onboard real-time and pseudo real-time embedded software architecture and telematics systems.

  • Requires knowledge of construction and mining industries and operations.

Education requirement:

  • Requires a degree in an accredited Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science curriculum or related field.

  • Shifts focus among several projects as required to ensure progress toward objectives.

Technical Excellence:

  • Defines high-level system architectures for onboard telematics and offboard cloud-based systems.

  • Analyzes software architecture design decisions and effectively describes key trade-offs.

  • Knowledge of software validation processes and software life-cycle management.

  • Guides engineering teams toward technical solutions that balance customer needs and business constraints.

  • Mentors others to build technical competencies.

  • Knowledge of DevOps and Git Hub

  • Knowledge of Java and / or C programming

Strategic Thinking:

  • Translates commercial needs and product vision into roadmaps that can be executed by engineering teams with estimated financials, customer value, and market positioning.

  • Recommends organizational changes to align or build capabilities to meet future market needs.

  • Builds relationships, confidence, and trust with key stakeholders.

  • Mentors others to build knowledge of construction and mining products and operations.

Additional Information:

  • Melbourne, Perth or Brisbane locations considered

  • This position will require 20% domestic and international travel.
